Consumer Law
Defective goods and services, right of withdrawal, unfair contract terms, applications to consumer arbitration committees and courts.
In consumer disputes the size of the claim and the complexity of the process are often inversely proportional: a relatively small receivable can stretch over years if it is not taken to the right authority with the right documents.
Defective goods and services Claims for repair, replacement, refund and price reduction; warranty scope disputes.
Distance and doorstep sales Exercise of the right of withdrawal, undelivered goods, return procedures.
Housing and timeshare Pre-paid housing sale agreements, delays in delivery, timeshare and holiday-sharing disputes.
Banking and finance Unlawfully charged fees and commissions, unfair terms in credit agreements, disputes concerning insurance products.
Route of application Depending on the amount in dispute, application to the Consumer Arbitration Committee is mandatory first; disputes above the monetary threshold are heard by the Consumer Court. The thresholds are updated annually.
